Skittles!

No, not the candy - the game! I forgot the highlight of last week. I chaired half a day of a zooarchaeology conference that the postgrads put on here in Cardiff - it was a blast - they blew me away. So smart and such interesting projects, I learned a ton.

So we went out for a curry after, which was great, and then ended up at a pub down the road for the evening, which had a skittles alley. Now skittles is kind of like bowling but with smaller pins, more spread apart, and smaller balls w/out any holes. You get three shots to knock the pins down. What a blast, and how much harder than it looked!! Crazy fun, though. Makes bowling seem really easy.

Anyway, here's a skittles alley. It was the most fun I've had in ages. Oh, and I also learned that Brits really don't trash talk. After a few awkward seconds of silence, after I had boo-ya'ed and mocked the other team, calling them losers (actually it was "llooooooosaahhhhhs"), anyway, after a few awkward seconds they laughed. It was pretty charming. They're much nicer than we are.
